DECOMMISSIONING - This project consisted of removing all
of the old gas plant including a training facility which
housed workers and included a mess hall, swimming pool,
tennis and basketball courts and various other buildings.
Hazardous materials included hexavalent chromium as an
anti-corrosive additive in the pipes, was the responsibility
of PG&E regarding evacuation of the chemical. Abatement of
asbestos and lead containing materials was conducted prior
any demolition. Kroeker was able to salvage many pieces of
equipment which consisted of motors, tanks, and the
recycling of metal. Baserock was produced from
the accumulation of concrete materials by running it through
a portable rock crusher.
